M O N E Y ! With Your BLOG came about as part of a learning process that took about 10 years! I've been "fiddling" around online for quite a while. I have made my fair share of mistakes and lost my fair share of money in the process.
I've been involved in Multi Level Marketing (MLM) with various companies, some of which were short-lived scams and others that are still around today! The problem I encountered with most MLM companies was the lack of support, either from uplines or corporate sources. They want you to sell, sell, sell and recruit, recruit, recruit, but don't give you the proper tools, resources or information on how to succeed. Also, the average MLMer does not, nor will they ever make the kind of money that the high impact sales pages tout.
So, after the initial shock and disappointment of MLM, I searched and searched for things that made sense and weren't full of hype and empty promises. I came across various "groups" that were working together to try to educate people on how to succeed, but for one reason or another, they failed.
I then tried to sell ClickBank products in Traffic Exchanges. I failed miserably at that as well, recording one (1) sale in about 6 months!
I then came into contact with "Team" Builds, which in theory are great. If you're in on the beginning of the team build you'll get your signups relatively fast. However, if you're the 500th signup (which in the case of getting 5 guaranteed signups would mean that you are one of five that signed up under number 100), it will take a lot longer before you see your 5 signups.
Most people are short on funds and can't afford to pay affiliate fees for 6, 9 or even 12 months before they see one signup and maybe get paid $5 on that signup (and as is the case in some programs, you have to wait until you reach the payment threshold before you get your money, i.e., you must have accumulated $25 in commissions). So the dropout rate can be high while people are waiting their turn for signups. And there are groups out there that make outlandish promises and DON'T deliver!
Now, my experience with Team Builds wasn't all bad. I learned a lot of things, like how to build splash pages and banners, how to brand myself, make a commitment, work hard, become a team leader myself and keep a team motivated.
STOP LETTING OTHERS STEAL YOUR DREAMS!
I always knew though, somewhere in the deep recesses of my mind, that what I heard along the way was true: THE MONEY IS IN THE LIST!
I have been a member of Global NPN for a number of years and a few months ago (September of 2010), I came across a forum post (in the NPN forum) from someone trying to find out if there were any teams building their NPN downlines together. I was curious to see the response and I happened upon a group called Family Networker. When I saw the bit of information about Family Networker, I was initially a bit leery, but still somewhat interested (once burned, twice shy!). And don't worry, they will not ask you to join Global NPN. It's your choice. It's a totally different concept compared to anything else I've seen online!
Let me tell you, Family Networker has changed my life! We are a group of close to 200 now (December 2010). We have a Skype room where there is always help available. I've been taking a FREE 90 day course (webinars and written material as well as instructional videos) on HOW TO BUILD MY LIST!
I've done something that I never thought I would do: I've writtten a 35 page report on how to make money with blogs! I've joined The New Year Giveaway and I'm giving my report away for FREE. When the Giveaway opens to the public, they expect 500,000 visitors to the site over a two week period. I received an award for my report - it was awesome and totally unexpected. The point of the Giveaway is to have people SIGN UP TO YOUR LIST!
I've also been very fortunate to learn how to build proper html squeeze pages, to use auto-redirect scripts, build a thank you page and a download page. I'm also learning how to build a Facebook Fan Page!
In my opinion, the opportunities for learning with Family Networker are unlimited. We have a very diverse group of people, covering a very wide spectrum of expertise! You can get an answer or help from someone within a couple of minutes or a couple of hours, depending on who's in the Skype room.
